United Under 12s Update, 18 April 2008

Training and Tournaments

We are taking a couple of weeks off training now but we restart on Saturday 3rd May from 10.00am until 11.00am at Ketts Park.

On Sunday 4th May, we have our team party at Norwich City Football Club.

On Saturday 10th May, we will be taking a five a side team to Dereham - could you please let me know your availability for this? This is a 9.30am start for a 10.00am kick-off and is a full day event.

Sunday 11th May is our Presentation Event at Wymondham Leisure Centre from 6.00pm until 9.00pm. Tickets are £10 for a family and are available from me.

On Sunday 18th May we are taking part in another five a side event at Sprowston taking eight players. Registration will be from 9.00am with matches starting at 10.00am. Again, I will need to know availability.

The following weekend is a Bank Holiday, so we’ll take another break.

Then on Sunday 1st June it’s Soccer on the Sands at Gt. Yarmouth.

And finally - for now - is a six a side tournament at Watton on Saturday 7th June.

United Under 12s Update, 18 March 2008

Training

Training this Saturday is at Ketts Park from 10.00am to 11.00am.

Fixtures

There are no matches this Sunday as it’s Easter Sunday.

Parents’ Meeting

The parents’ meeting was a great success thanks to all the Lizards’ parents who made it along with the two parents from the United squad. I can only assume you are generally happy with our plans… For those of you who couldn’t be there, here is the Parents’ Evening Presentation (268kb PDF)

Under 12s United End of Season Party

As we will be merging with the Lizards at the end of the season for the Under 13s and beyond, we have a balance left in our team ‘kitty’ that we should use up on the boys. To that end, I have arranged a party at Norwich City from 3.30pm to 6.00pm on Sunday, May 4th. From 3.30pm until 5.00pm, the boys will receive some training at Carrow Park. At 5.00pm they will go to eat the packed tea you will need to have provided for them, please, and at 5.30pm they will have a full tour of Norwich City football ground until 6.00pm.

There will be no cost to the boys but you will need to make arrangements to get them there and to pick them up afterwards.

Wymondham Town United Presentation Event

This will take place at the Wymondham Leisure Centre from 6.00pm until 9.00pm on Sunday, May 11th. A family ticket for the event will cost £10 and tickets will be available to buy from me shortly.

I need to know urgently who each player wishes to vote as their Player of the Year, please.

WTUFC Constitution Rules & Codes of Conduct

These have been printed and are ready to be collected from me. Participation in any match or training session requires acceptance by the players, their parents/guardians and any spectator associated with any player.

United and Lizards Under 12s Parents Meeting

The coaches of both Under 12s squads - the Lizards and United - will be holding a Parents Meeting from 7.30pm until 9.00pm in the function room upstairs at the Queens Head on Friday, 14 March 2008.

The purpose of the meeting is to keep the parents up to date with developments within Wymondham Town United Football Club including a general club update, our FA Charter Mark status and an update on developments concerning our home ground, Ketts Park.

We will have a recap of our seasons so far before bringing you up to speed with our plans for the 2008/2009 Under 13s season and beyond. This will encompass the planned move to one squad, its structure, training dates - particularly important for those parents whose lads study at Wymondham College and the Club’s team selection policy.

We will then move on to discuss the WTUFC Presentation Event on Sunday 11 May 2008, a summer training event for the Under 13s and summer tournaments.

An agenda will be handed out at tomorrow’s matches.

United Under 12s Update, 14 September 2007

Training

Training this Saturday is from 9.30am until 11.00am as normal.

Fixtures

Poringland, 16 September 2007

This is our first away fixture of the season, kicking off at 2.00pm at Framingham Earl High School which is on the way into Poringland on the left just next to the speed camera. The lads will need to wear their green and white away kits and be there no later than 1.30pm for warm-up.

We will be leaving in convoy from Kett’s Park at around 1.00pm if you do not want to travel directly there by yourselves.

If anyone cannot attend, please make sure I am informed well in advance: you have my numbers, etc.

United Under 12s Update, 7 September 2007

Training

Training this Saturday, 8th September has been cancelled as we are going to be taking out the bases for the existing goalposts and digging out and concreting in the bases for the new goalposts from 9.30am onwards.

As requested in the local papers, if any family of friends are available to help out, that would be very gratefully received: bring your spades and wheelbarrows!

Fixtures

Firside, 9 September 2007

This is our first home fixture of the season, kicking off at 11.30am at Kett’s Park once more. Please ensure that players are at Kett’s Park by 11.00am for briefing and warm-up.

If anyone cannot attend, please make sure I am informed well in advance: you have my numbers, etc.

United Under 12s Update, 31 August 2007

Training

Training will be on Saturday, 1st September from 9.30am until 11.00am at Ketts Park with the Lizards Under 12s as usual. You should all assume there will be training on a Saturday unless you hear differently from me.

Club and League Registration Forms

I still have not had club and league registration forms for Dan Brindle, Oliver Charlish, Zack Harvey, Louis Hyett and Edward Tennant. According to league rules, we cannot play those players unless they’re registered or we risk a fine in addition to the fine the club will now have to pay for missing the registration deadline.

I still have forms and will have them with me to collect from my home or from training.

Web Site Update

The team mini-site has been updated with our new league table and our fixtures list. I need to speak to Steve Swallow to agree kick-off times with him where there are Ketts Park fixture clashes before I can include them and finalise the list for issue to you, but the dates are all there at least.

United Under 12s Update, 28 July 2007

Training

Parts of Ketts Park are being re-seeded at the moment, so training will restart on Saturday, 4th August from 9.30am until 11.00am at Ketts Park with the Lizards Under 12s.

Club and League Registration Forms

I have a batch of registration forms for WTUFC which every player must have completed and returned to me together with their £10 registration fee before the start of the season (and they should ideally be returned well before that). I will be handing these out at training or you can call and collect them from me.

I also have the league registration forms that must be completed and signed by every player, parent and me and have lodged with the league before players are allowed to take part in any league fixtures. There is no charge for registration, but each form requires two passport-sized photographs of the players (we tend to print out a digital photo of Jack that we then cut to size). I will need these fully completed and returned to me no later than Saturday, 18th August for me to submit to the league. I am away from 10th-17th August, so you can return them to me before then if that would be easier (which it probably would be…).

United Under 12s Update, 29 June 2007

Remember me?

Training

Friendlies

We’re going to restart our training in preparation for the new season with some friendlies against the Lizards Under 12s and the United and Lizards Under 11s on Wednesday evenings over the next few weeks, starting this Wednesday, 4th July, 7.00pm at Ketts Park. Please wear whatever kit you like, as we’ll no doubt need to use some bibs.

Soccer Academy

As you’ll have seen if you’ve read the Wymondham & Attleborough Mercury, we have announced our own Soccer Academy in lieu of the Summer School which only caters for up to Under 11s.

This is a free event and will be taking place on Saturday 7th and Saturday 14th July from 10.00am until 2.00pm: please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. It will be open to anyone in the right age group and the aim is to hone our squads’ skills and to attract new players for both the Lizards and the United Under 12s.

Although it is free, we will still need to get all our players registered with the Club for the season ahead as always and the annual sign-on fee remains at £10 as the last few years.

In order to establish how many players we are likely to require for the coming season we need your help, please! We need to know by next weekend whether or not your son is available for the season ahead. To do this we simply need an email from you stating “Yes”, “No” or “Undecided”.

With this information we will then build up a plan of the number of additional players we need to look for and promote the Soccer Academy through local advertising, schools, youth clubs etc. and we will know which squads any new players will be joining.

If you have any questions regarding the academy or any other aspects of the future for the Lizards and United Under 12s please feel free to contact either Steve Swallow or Richard Morris (by e-mail please).

2007/2008 Season

Season Start Date

I have this evening heard from Steve Swallow who attended the League AGM as our Club Secretary that the new season will be starting on Sunday, 9th September: details of fixtures, etc. to follow when they are issued.

League Cup

Woohoo! We are already through to the second road of the League Cup again this year having been awarded a bye in the draw.

And Finally…

It turns out that the most sporting team in our league last season was Blofield but we were very close runner-up. Well done everyone and let’s go all out to win the league and the most sporting team honour this season.

Congratulations also to the Lizards who won their league’s most sporting team trophy.
